According to his email

"To sow the berries it is best to just press the berries into a bark scale. Do not rely on one or two as the mice and birds may find them."

I did have it in the back of my mind that they can be poisonous. As my apple tree is over the chicken run, would this be a problem? Are they poisonous to some and not others?

Hi Chantal,
I rather think that the Berries will not do the Chickens any harm BUT I do not know if they may pass some toxins on in their egg. I do not quite know where to go for advice. Hoping John may read this as he is sure to know or at least know where to enquire.
