Tigger, it IS an old name, I looked it up with Seedling a while back. We did some research and it's been going a lot longer than you or me; especially if he's from North of the Border. Has anyone noticed a Scottish accent in any postings? No hint of kilt wearing? :wink:

Brilliant book Alan, is it available on Amazon? :lol: :lol: It'll be "OH The Movie" next. :lol: :lol:

Now here's a thought. This has also been adapted as a play

"It's not often that you find a play which gives you gardening tips and cookery suggestions! This one-man show about Bert, the head gardener at a country house, has entranced audiences all around the country. Indeed the play was performed by Roger Hume at Windsor Castle on Boxing Night 1979 in the presence of the Royal Family. As Bert potters around his plant pots and gardening tools, he relates tales of his life as a gardener, completely drawing us in to his special world and treating us as garden party guests who are nosing in on his greenhouse. A very special piece"

We could have a KG day out with OH playing himself, giving his gardening and cookery tips whilst pottering in his greenhouse whilst we all have a nose around... :twisted:

Careful what you say - his name means ROCK (as in HARD, not as in STICK OF) in Welsh and Gaelic.

Well i have learnt some things about myself today, :) told you all i lead an exciting life. :D

You should read the book if you can, it's rather sweet, but the ending is a little sad.

As for the photo, NEVER. 8) :D :wink:

Dear Alan, i haven't seen that ariel photo before, i live just to the left of the allotments.
I think that photo was probably taken about ten years ago, going by what washing is hanging on the line. :D :wink:

I think Herby is like a Leslie Phillips type person. All smooth, suarve and sophisticated.

If OH wants to keep the location of his greenhouse retreat under wraps, despite the efforts of Google map to uncover it,..then perhaps I could come up with just the alternative venue for his show...complete with Big House..etc
