I know you said it's too late to complain but ......
Just tried wimpole for the first time and unless I am missing something it is going to waste loads of time.
When I went in before (and now as I have quickly changed back) I saw headings :
Forum Topic Postings Last Post
- so could quickly decide where there was something new of interest now I get pages of icons and small print to wade through and still can't see the same summary.
New look!

Hmm, i'm trying to get an idea of where this white space is that you are talking about...
Is it:
A) Directly below the blue 'You are in...' bar?
B) Directly above the same bar
C) Somewhere else...?
If you could cite which page you are looking at it'd help!

I've just measured the distance from the top of the page to the first post / topic, and there's actually less distance in the new format than in the old one!

Have just tested in IE6 and can see what you're all getting at with the whitespace on the top right! I'll try and fix it ASAP! (It is broken, not a 'funky' design feature!)

Hi Mr Potatohead. Confession to make. Haven't even looked at the new look. Having worked with computers for 45 years I no longer have the inclination to bother to look at such things if I am happy with what works - I've wasted far too much time. However, I would make one comment. IE7 is newish and seems to be a bit iffy in some respects so you may well find that displays differ on different platforms. For instance Nationwide have a problem where the upper bar is sometimes lost so you can't sign out unless you hit the refresh button, which is in a different place from IE6 - unless IE7 is more secure I can't see that it is an improvement on IE6.
You have my sympathy. Getting displays to work correctly on all platforms can be a real pain, especially with new releases.

Much as I hate to say it (being a hardcore Firefox fan) IE7 is a vast improvement on IE6 and is well worth the download. It does have improved security, both in technical terms, and by providing users with some simple security tools.
Also, IE7 is much more compliant with display standards, generally making my life as a designer a little easier. Particularly useful for the hard of seeing is the new 'zoom' function, which doesn't only resize the text, but actually scales up the page so it doesn't 'break' the design.
It's still flawed, and it's not likely to win me away from Firefox, but it's getting there...

I personally find Firefox easier to use than IE and, technologically speaking, it's way ahead.
What is singularly most useful to the user are the extensions. I'd recommend the spell-check (useful when filling in forms online - like the forum), but there are hundreds to choose from.
If you're not sure, there's nothing to stop you downloading it and trying it out. If you don't like it, uninstall it!
