Good to hear the council nonsense has been sorted Westi! I know what you mean about it being nice having a chance to look round the rest of the plots, sometimes it’s good to have something to make us have a bit of a break isn’t it!
Yes, I felt quite sad (and a tad guilty) about the Bramley, as I had put it in probably about 25 years ago but it had always been attacked by codling moths (despite having one of those traps), as well as aphids every year. But when we saw the poor root system we realised it was never going to be a healthy tree and probably wouldn’t have survived at all in the wild.
And it’s now raining properly here now so I’m one happy bunny.

I hope that you all have had this very welcome rain, it started here around 3.30pm but stopped at 8.00pm. Managed to mow most of the lawn before the rain started. I'm nursing a sore thigh this evening, I am looking after my eldest son's collie that does not get on with mine. They decided to quarrel and on seperating them I received a nasty bite to the back of my thigh! I do not think rain is forecast here to-morrow but is forecast for places further north.

Well we didn’t get all the rain that we were predicted…..only had about 20 minutes of steady rain, despite very black clouds keep drifting over! Hopefully we will get some more over the coming week!
Glad you got everything sorted out, Westi!
Hope the dog bite soon heals up Barney!
Lovely to see you back on the forum, Adrienne!
Did you get much rain, Clive?
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Well how disappointing for you OH, with that small amount of rain you must have got. Now, am I remembering correctly - another time, possibly last year, when we were all desperate for some rain and many of us were getting it but it kept missing your area?
I was luckier here and managed to collect a fair amount in various buckets etc that I’ll keep in a container for when the newish blueberry, azalea and rhododendron need it.

It must have started raining about 9pm last night....was coming down fairly heavy when I last looked out before bed.

5mm in the gauge this morning, it didn't seem to come as much as the forecast and radar seemed to suggest it might. Enough though to do a bit of good..with ref the jobs I got done yesterday.
