So, I thought I would explore the Gardening/Allotment/Veg Growers groups too and chose three of them.
Oh my giddy aunt.....I have never come across such a load of tosh! Some of the advice given to inexperienced gardeners ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous. I just don't know where they get these ideas from, or if they actually use the methods themselves.
A "newbie" to veg growing asked, what the yellow residue on her tomatoes was. One sensible answer was, pollen from the flowers. The one which made me goggle was from a woman who said, the tomato stems ate insects and the yellow residue was the result.
Another rather smug chap posted that all his tools were now cleaned and hung up in his allotment shed, ready for use next spring. And he had covered all his plot with cardboard. Sounds like his allotment is closed for the winter, then...
This forum is always the place I turn to, if I have a problem or need advice or just someone else more knowledgeable than myself, to give an opinion.
Having read the advice and suggestions in these groups makes me appreciate all of you on here so much.
Thanks to all of you for being so wonderful!!
