Re: Allotment Pictures First Year..

Managed to get away with the frosts and they seem not to be too bad at the moment.Saying that though had a bit of a frost 3 nights ago and everything seems to have come through unscathed thus far. My Neighbours Beans got hit by the frost though as his are younger than mine.

Re: Football ****** football

in particular to Pheasant, the car which hit it can not claim it as it is classed as poaching, the car behind can claim it.
2 car tandem was often played by my father and Uncle in the backroads of Herefordshire and Worcestershire as a child.

Re: Tools for clearing an allotment

The plot I have is similiar in setup to that of Mouse with grass paths between each plot so the strimmer would be better for keeping the grass down as it is not wide enough for the lawnmower.

Re: Tools for clearing an allotment

Thanks for the Advice and encouragement. I will go with the slow methodical approach of trench digging and slave labour of my Children. My Uncle who has also been growing on allotments suggested to leave the digging until January, and to then clear the "dead" bracken/weeds away after cover...

Re: ALLOTMENTS AND MINORS (NOT MINERS)

I'm a bit touchy on this one as i take my 7 and 3 year old daughters with me to the Allotment, put in mind they are usually watched over pretty closely and enjoy digging and watching the plants(mainly weeds as it is a brand new reclaimed plot) mature. I dug the trenches they pulled the weeds out and...

Re: An alternative use for my potato grow sacks

I grew some potatos in a couple of potato barrels this year and they came out really well. The barrels were approx 4'high by 2' wide and were earthed up as they grew.

Re: Bits and Bobs No. 10

Aln once again hits the head of the nail head on and spoils the fantasy, i was hoping OH would do a search of the tale and let his imagination run wild. But on a side note it is still a nice story to go with an area which is both beautiful and pleasant.

Nos Dda.

Re: Bits and Bobs No. 10

For OH seems to be a while since anyone posted ideas for your North Wales visit. My tip would be to stay in a place called Bedd Gellert in the Snowdonian range. It is in a nice area for plenty of walking, Snowdonia is not the only walk in the ranges!!!! It has a couple of nice olde style country pub...
