Any of you thinking of 'having a few chickens in the garden' should definately consider 'rescue' battery hens. Took delivery of our 8 a week after Christmas. A sorry looking lot they were! NOW ... just about to venture into 'keeping a few hens at the end of the garden'. on the waiting list for some 'rescue' battery hens - anyone had experience of these? also want some guinea fowl but cant seem to locate any here in kent! any ideas?

aladdin paraffin heater

I have been given an old aladdin blue flame series 6 heater. no instructions tho!cant seem to adjust the wick and dont know how to get it out if i decide to change it. cant seem to find any instructions online. I dont want to break it as it looks workable!
Can anyone help???

Thanks for your help. Actually I have already dug them up to see myself if they had rotted at all. They were fine (all 3 of them!) I think probably dryness may be the problem, I did feed and mulch them well this year. I think I may pot them for this next year and see if this is any good!!! Lily beet...

Crown Imperial

I have three crowm imperial corms which have been in the ground for 3 years. Each year they grow to about 18'' and then wilt and dissappear! any ideas? Also some nectaroscordium that came up the first year but not a l;ot since. Soil is sandy.
