Day lilies

Need to know the best time to plant?

this year my day lilies have very few flowers on. Someone else locally commented the same, Any ideas?

I had a clump that had stopped flowering, admittedly they were overshadowed by some trees that had grown up. Two years ago I split them up and moved them into the open. Last year they grew well but didn't flower but this year they are flowering well. Perhaps yours need a similar fresh start.

I agree with Geoff. I had a similiar problem. I split the clump and replanted. The first year very few flowers but this year a lovely display. I think most perenials are better for splitting every few years.
