The temperature here fell to 3.2C at dawn and for the first time there is ice on my car windscreen.
I haven't ventured down the plot yet to see if the Beans have taken a hit!

Quite chilly here this morning too though no frost so far, hope your beans were OK.
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.

I do hope your beans were ok, Johnboy. The cold nights are the price we pay for lovely still and sunny days at this time of the year, aren't they?
It was Kilnsey Show today, a much loved local agricultural show and they really deserve the good weather because some years it had to be cancelled because of the fields being waterlogged or the gales being too strong for the marquees. Today's weather must have been perfect.

Quite a few leaves on the Runner Beans show signs of scorch but fortunately not any real damage and it is several degrees warmer this morning.
We generally get frost here from now on quite frequently.
When I can get some help I will put a fleece over the top of the whole lot
which a couple of years ago allowed me to pick RB's into December!

No frost here but very cool. I love these clear cool mornings.
Monika, we went to Kilnsey Show yesterday. It is the first time my OH has been there for 20 years and we had a lovely time. It is a real old fashioned show. Very good with lots of things going on. They were so lucky with the weather for once. Just a bit expensive to get in £10 per person and £5 for parking.

It got down to 4.4C here and just a little scorch on one or two squash leaves - now it's warmed up a little at night - hope I haven't spoken too soon.
