Pruning Squash Plants

Hi - my squash plants have really taken off this week and are now spreading vey quickly. The question is, should I prune them to stop them spreading and if so how much do you take off each plant?

I don't prune them - just make sure when I plant them they have room. You can train them to grow round and round in a circle by using canes to keep them in check.
