Hello All, I need advice please.This year I bought four pepper plants. I am growing these in pots in hot sunshine, no drastic drop in temperatures. They are being watered regularly and fed each week. The peppers are forming and growing to about two inches may be very slightly more (but too small to pic) then rotting on the plant. What can I do to prevent this please.

How humid is it where these plants are growing?

Interesting - I normally get the same situation with peppers rotting from the bottom upwards - and mine are grown 2 to a grow bag in a mini-greenhouse set against a brick wall.
This year (as at August 2010) I have not had that problem and am getting some good size peppers coming through.
The only two things I have changed are a) I reset the mini-greenhouse during the winter and so it is now more "air tight" and b) I have changed the watering so that there is a "dripper" action with 1 litre per grow bag per day (when sunny) or alternate days (when not). (Based in North Yorkshire).
I changed the watering method as I suspected that I was flooding the roots and creating too much moisture. I also open the doors during any very hot periods. The watering has also seen a "better" shape to my peppers as well.
I don't know if any of the above has been of any use.
