Planted shallots in polystyrene pots yesterday, placed them in the lee of the house, [faces south] though we also have snow I have always planted on the shortest day, feel great, it seems that summer is just round the corner. Season greetings to all the regular contributors, and too any new ones out there that are hesitating to put a toe in the water, join us, we are by and large a friendly bunch. Merry Xmas and a great growing year for 2010. shallotman.

And the same to you, Shallot Man. :)

Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

OH. I have my own stock that over the years I select and keep. To stop the Memsahib using them I tell her I have sprayed them with chemicals, [ this stage my nose gets a bit longer].
