I've just spent a frustrating half hour trying to "put back" one of those structures of green gardening string which you pull out from the inside. It got stuck, so I tugged a little harder and the whole structure collapsed on me. In the end I gave up and stuffed the whole lot back inside itself but it now resembles a dismembered creature that has had the whole of its intestines yanked out. Has anybody discovered the secret of handling these string balls to keep them intact and prevent them from unravelling from within?

I agree in principle but a screw top plastic pot is better.
