Hi, folks.

This is sort of a follow-on from Snooky's thread on the kids of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Following last night's new snow, my son couldn't wait to get out in the garden. He's just dragged me down there now to look at the igloo he's built, and take a photo of him in it :)

What's wrong with that, you're asking? Nothing, except that he's a 27-year-old policeman. Today just happened to be his first day off since the snow began

In my day, you had to have your own kids to give you the excuse to go out and do things like that :!:

Dear Caz, i'm sure it's a bit of a man thing going on, who always builds the biggest and best sand castles and forts on the beach, it's not the kids. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

That's true - though I didn't like to say it myself, OH

Though if I'm honest, it's only the thought of what the neighbours would say that stopped me going out there and playing with him

No one should feel too old to have a little fun. :)

Very true. Right then , I'm off to get my hat and gloves. I'll show him who can build the biggest igloo !

And if the neighbours dare give me strange looks, I'll have a few snowballs at the ready

Caz - you'll probably find that once you're out there and start building, all the other adults will come out and join you. They won't be able to resist the challenge.

Sorry - what was that, Johnboy :?:
I couldn't hear you properly; I was down at the bottom of the garden :!: :D

And when the snow melts, maybe I'll go off and climb a few trees and start building dens
