Can anyone advise me about used compost from growing early potato's. I grew the potato's in old compost sacks and now we're havesting them . Can we put the spent compost on our raised beds for next year.
Any help would be appreciated. :)

Dear Josie, the old compost will be just fine on your raised beds, and a good way of improving the depth and texture of the soil.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

We grow five or six sacks of new potatoes every year and I keep the compost to plant up the tubs and window boxes with wallflowers and bulbs (augmented with a bit of slow release fertiliser) and then spread the rest on the vegetable beds, expect where we are growing potatoes the following year.

now I will use my old potato compost on beds and pots etc. Just one thing though did I read somewhere that no good for tomatoes because they are from the same family - or did I make that up.....

Hi Kwa50,
You are correct in what you have said. Not where Tomatoes are to grow and I would also suggest Peppers and Aubergines to be added to your list.
