As a keeper and eater of chickens and ducks I was interested in this article on the front of yesterday's Observer.
What's your view on it?

My thoughts are that just so long as all the safeguards are in place there is no reason not to use this useful source of protein.
The strange thing is that we all agree that the resources of the world should be used sensibly yet when something like this is mooted it takes one journalist to go against it because it sells newspapers and is good for their circulation.
They have done exactly the same with GM Food and now Europe is the only continent not taking advantage of GM. I appreciate that Muslims and Jews do not eat Pork and eat quite a high proportion of chicken and I have no desire to offend their religious beliefs but being minority groups means they will have to source their chickens from producers not using that particular type of feed. This surely is not beyond their capabilities.
