I received my free Fig tree from TKG yesterday.
Very healthy little plant. I shall enjoy growing it. I have one I planted on the lottie last year which is doing well but this one I will grow in a tub a home.
Any tips will be appreciated. I think my main problem will be when it is too big to handle to pot on.

Dear Beryl, i would use John innes No3 for the potting soil.
I think a twelve inch pot would be best to start it of in, and then increase the pot by a couple of inches each year until you reach your desired sized pot.
Always try and allow an inch or so of new soil on top of the old root ball.
And don't forget to put some crocks in the botton of the pot each time.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Thanks OH. I will follow your advice. I must admit I tend to pot everything in multi-purpose compost but will make sure I use John Innes 3 this time.

Beryl.

PS Just realised I think I posted this in the wrong section. My oplogies.
