They like to use different words just to confuse things. :)

After a little checking up, the term second crop actually means a late season crop. :?
This means the tubers have been kept under a controlled temperature until July or August, they are then planted to get a very late crop of new potatoes. Even up to Chritmas if left in the ground.

Something else i've learned, this garedening lark can be very trying sometimes. :) :wink:

And just incase anyone doesn't know, second earlies are planted after first earlies in the Spring, i think. :)
