brown patches on tomato leaves! help!

My outside tomatoes – Gardener's Delight and Sungold – have suddenly developed brown papery patches on the leaves – as though the cellulose is being stripped away to leave the skeleton inside. I'm assuming it's not the dreaded blight but would be interested to know if anyone has any suggestionsas to what this is?! thanks in advance

It seems rather too early in the year for blight (although I could be wrong as this often seems to triggered by cold wet soil) and I wonder whether it's the cold temperatures we've been suffering recently at night. I know in certain parts of the country they really have been quite low and possibly this has caused the leaf damage. You might find that as the weather warms up the new leaves which appear are OK.

Apart from temperatures, it could well be wind damage. I seem to recall you have just had a fairly rough time down in Kent.

thanks, actually I'm in south London now, but it has been horribly windy, wet and cold here too. I hope they'll recover when the weather settles.
