composting mealy aphid

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

I cleared away all my old broccoli today, which has an impressive infestation of mealy aphid - is it okay to chuck the leaves, aphids and all, onto the compost heap or will they survive to infest another day?

Perhaps I could persuade my next door neighbour to put them on his very stinky barbeque - it won't smell any worse than his usual Sunday afternoon cremation session!
