Dear all,

Am I missing something?

I got home this lunchtime to find my May edition of KG awaiting me. What joy.

In the editorial it says "Don't miss out on your 20 free plug plants...- fill in the order form on the inside back of our cover flap today." But I can't find a cover flap or any other mention of the plug plants! Am I going mad or is it just old age catching up with me?

Otherwise the magazine looks even more interesting than usual.

Best wishes,

Mike T

I wondered if there was a mix up with last month's mag as plug plants were a cover story (page 72).

The offers and giveaways on the website are still those from last month so no way to check details of what the offer might have been yet.

WHOOPS!

Notice the deliberate mistake in this month's magazine? Yes, that's right, the plug plant offer that should have been attached to the front of the magazine is missing. We're not quite sure what happened, but we're blaming the pigeons...

So, in the spirit of fair play, we're giving you the chance to take up the offer now, online. There are two ways to do it...

1. The old-fashioned way - download the order form (PDF format), print it out, and send it off... OR

2. Simply follow the links to the Kings Plants website, and add the Mixed Lettuce to your basket...
BUT DON'T FORGET - enter the offer code KG107 at the checkout, otherwise you'll pay the full price.

Lettuce offer - 20 Free plug plants (+ £2.99 p&p)

** See the front page of KG's website for more details & offers.

Somehow I can't picture OH with a portable wireless networked laptop typing away listening to the birds singing in the middle of his plot but perhaps I'm wrong.
North South divide in the weather again - freezing fog and headlights coming to work this morning and still very grey.
As for the offer now we see it, perhaps I'd better keep quiet in case I offend someone, but unimpressed would be polite.

Weather is great here - just got 30 minutes to sit outside on our work patio for lunch, just a shame to have to go back indoors.

Touching 19c here

I'm sure you won't offend Geoff, except those who deserve to be offended. Free = only £2.99 :!: I make that just under 15 pence per lettuce. For £2.98 I can buy 12,000 seeds, which my calculator tells me is over 40 lettuce per penny :!:

Dear Geoff, you are quite right, i don't take a portable laptop about with me. :)
But i do work close to where i live, so i can pop in now and again, just to make sure i'm not missing anything.

Glad I'm not the only one who was A) confused about the missing flap and B) less than impressed by the free= £2.99.

It would be good if it was something like toms that time is running out to grow from seed. But lettuce you can plant for ages yet. I haven't even planted mine yet as it's still too cold up here.
Welcome to Finland!!

The fact that there has been all this correspondence shows how few of us read the 'Home' page and its links.
Regarding the 'free offer' I have yet to see any gift from the magazine that is of any use at all to me. Free seeds are always either a variety that I have in a growers size or as in the case of Tigerella I have already trialled and found lacking in some respect. One of the supermarkets promoted Tigerella for a season, it was never heard of again.
