i bought some red onions to plant, when can i plant them??

I assume that they are sets, in which case I usually plant mine out in late March or April, depending on the weather and soil conditions.

If itb is seeds, then now would be good.

If they are sets and you are desperate to start them off, you could do so in Rootrainers in a cold greenhouse in mid-February but be prepared to cover them up in hard frosts. They transplant well out of Rootrainers.
