They are enormous and have a lovely taste (I pulled one last night) but they are not getting ripe, i.e. the leaves are still green and upright.
They did go in a bit late because of the poor spring weather but my shallots are all harvested now.
What do I do.

Thanks
Sandy

Sandy, just let nature get on with it, while they are still green, they are still growing.
You should have some nice big onions by the time they have finished. :D
You can always pull the odd one now if you need to.

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Hi,
I always grow Stuttgater. I envy you for 'giant' results this year, how did you do it? My crop this year is abysmal. No water on the plots, but the initial preparation was sound.

Just lucky I guess. I live in N. Oxon too and haven't watered the onions since I first planted them in their raised beds!
