My red onions, which have been treated exactly the same as the other onions, have started to develope flower heads ....
They have been watered everyday in dry weather, & have given them some feed. The leaves are only about 8" high.

Any suggestions? can I cut the flower heads off? Or is there a use for them (seed?) if I leave them to flower?

Thanks for any help.

If left they effect the onion and make them less valuable in the kitchen.

I tend to remove the seed heads/bud and use those onions first as they do not store so well.
