So, my husband said, it's raining so probably not an allotment day, I know lets go on a date ...... Not what I was expecting though and when we married 10 years ago hadn't realised this was one of his secret loves........however, Amazing atmosphere! Pity I forgot to press the play/ record button......

The irony here is that if this is todays mainline trip by the Flying Scotsman out of Paddington then network rail would not release times to avoid crowds on the route.
Ermm how many are in this picture !!!!!!!!!!!!! and other pictures I have seen have bigger crowds,

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.
At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet
We knew the rough time it was going through our town so hopped on a train to the next village which has a lovely pub with a beer garden. There was a notice up in our train station confirming times.
We got to the village early with the aim of having a few beers and lunch (the pub was prepared and had a few barrels of flying Scotsman which soon ran out). However, out on the road were hundreds of people (an hour early because the times on the internet were wrong) and who were getting in the way of other trains to a point where it was really dangererous. People on the tracks to take pictures thinking every southwest train was the Scotsman! True train spotters were getting quite irate and refused to move. At one point an unmarked police car came in with blue lights flashing - you'd have thought they had royalty with them, but when the doors opening out stepped four network rail guys for crowd control!
Just as the Scotsman pulled up a train came in on the opposite platform blocking the view foreveryone who had been there for hours for the prime spots. I shouldn't laugh......
But train spotting is definitely not being added to the hobby list!

Oh yes you should laugh, at every opportunity.
As for the hobby list, Hmmm I'm not sure an anorak and badges would look all that appealing
