The allotments at Butts Meadow were created in October 1914. It seems a bit odd, considering the war had just started, but it was no doubt at the end of long negotiation.
Later in the war, the value of allotments and their produce was very high.

Evening Stephen, i bet the allotments has seen plenty of characters come and go over the years. Lets hope it can keep going for the next hundred.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Congratulations to Butts Meadow.

My old allotment site hit 100 in 1992 and is still going strong 22 years into its next century.
