I know that lots of children are reluctant to eat fruit and vegetables, but my two-year-old grandson certainly isn't showing signs of it yet.
Once he realised that the fresh strawberry I had offered him came straight off a plant in my garden, he kept heading for the strawberry patch on a regular basis. Then he discovered the blackcurrants - which even to me tasted very tart - then the gooseberries, and now the raspberries.
I have also discovered that he loves fresh crisp white raw cabbage, and will happily eat raw French beans. He loves tomatoes and can spot a tomato plant from quite a distance. Can't wait for autumn / winter to see if he is as keen to eat Brussels sprouts (my own favourite).

But his latest discovery - raw chives!

He has usually had his five a day after an hour in my garden. :D

I suppose he's out of nappies so you haven't got that treat.

I wish! My own were out of nappies by 18 months, but most modern parents, including my son and his wife, won't even consider potty training until 2 - 3 years old. Fortunately, all the fruit and veg don't seem to have to big an effect on him - not until he's gone home again, anyway! Actually, with a bit of careful planning on what I let him eat (lots of rhubarb perhaps?), maybe I could 'convince' them that sooner would be better than later. Now there's an idea!

O mouse!! Shame on you... do you grow jerusalem artichokes at all....? Just wait until he hits the fresh sweetcorn!

My youngest used to love raw peas and fresh carrots, it was just getting him to wash the carrots that was the problem :D
