Says it all really. Someone from Anglian Water has finally realised that the wet stuff outside is due to excessive rainfall and not another ill maintained, leaking pipe
I had exemption to use the hose for my chicken ladies and ducks, but it will be nice to be able to use it for the pots when the water butts are empty!
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing. By Thomas Huxley http://www.wildrye.info/reserve/
Just took up an offer from our water board for a plumber to visit [free] to install water saving devises. Lord knows how much this is costing ,thought the money might be better spent repairing leaks in the mains.
Strange thing is that according to the powers that be Horticulture, and that includes gardeners and allotments, accounts for 5% of the nations water. On the other hand water company leakages account from 12% to 27% of the nations water depending where you live. As was said earlier on in this thread that the water companies should concentrate more on leakages than putting the nation through water restrictions and eventual price increases. When you consider that the water companies commodity comes to them free the prices we pay for water are scandalous. When you look at the whole network they actually do very little for their money. JB.
