Off and away...

Just to say that we are now back into serious market trading months, so, with Holy Week on the horizon as well, there will be little time now for the internet.

Our work just now to support family in India is to raise for paediatric meds and a product called plumpy'nut for the babies. The humble peanut ... this is an enriched, emulsified peanut butter that contains all a severely malnourished child needs. It is sweet so they love it; as it comes in sealed sachets, it needs no special storage etc and the child need not be in hospital. They are checked every week. Sometimes in the concern for children we maybe forget the mothers seeing their children fail and die and being helpless. Or having the little one in hospital.
The difference on this food is seen within 24 hours, and within three weeks the danger is past. The UN have approved it as an emergency food.

So this is why we are trading; and of course, every meal we eat from the garden releases more cash, and every sale of produce the same.

As it is family who are at the coal face, and as they live very simply, every cent we raise goes where it is most needed.

So we work on now...Crafting and jamming... we just had a message from someone in Australia who bought jam from us when in Ireland and want us to post more to them!
