Hi Alan,
Thank you for the second photograph, that view has brought back so many memories its untrue, many I had forgotten about, like the science master trying to catch mullet or mackerel with a fly rod whilst stand on the rocks cannot remember if he caught anything.
also I remember going swimming in the next bay, we would have walk/run in the shallow's to get to the deeper water so we could start swimming, but what we did not know was, that there was a shelf that dropped down quite a bit, so it was such a shock to run out in what we thought was shallows only to have the beach disappear from under us and to find yourself underwater which even now makes me shudder as it was not expected at all.
I must on day get back to the llyn Peninsula and Criccieth for I have had some memorable holidays there, but I think I will give the swimming a miss
