Hi Everyone,

This is something we have had dropped in our laps by Liverpool City Council, there is a proposal to increase our allotment rent, from £33 a year to £60 giving us a 81.18% increase.

Happy Christmas

Regards

Arnie

My half plot is £50 per year.

Considering the new gym that has opened locally is £15.99 a month - I consider £50 a year rent good value for all the fresh air and exercise I'm getting digging out bindweed :D

maybe we should have a poll to see who pays the most and who is gets a bargain.

Our plots are £10 a plot, but the other plot holders do have to put up with me. :)

Our rent is going up 1st. January from £17 to £20 its to cover the water rates which were over £6000 last year, they are big plots and well worth the money, down side we had 3 break in this year the latest one last Friday night.

We have averaged size plots, a cracking view of the country, overlooking the mendips and glastonbury tor, nobody too far from a water tap and the use of a hosepipe (if they really must). The availability of a petrol mower to mow paths with, with the petrol included.

We pay £15 per year and they moaned when it went up from the £10 it was held at for ten years. I wish our folk could read this. As people often say, they don't know the half of it................

Even with the higher prices you have to ask where else in any other sector could you rent a piece of ground for that price even at £60 pa?

Compo, that is one of the best views available and well worth the money. From my exile in the Chilterns I do have a decent view but Somerset would be even better.

Some days OH can spend hours at the allotment yet nothing much gets done.........

We had one who liked to weed in a bikini top & snug hotpants, other end of the site from me, but some of the old chaps down there used to look as though they were reviewing old memories for the rest of the day, quite wistfully too.
