Well having survived the drought while stuff was growing , we now seem to be settling into the rainy season, when we need stuff to ripen! I hope not as lots of plants are coming to fruition. in this weather blight seems quite likely, wondering if a cover over the outdoor tomatoes might help prevent it, they look very healthy at the moment.

Hi NB,

I think it is a little early to describe it as the rainy season down here. We had rain from last night until mid-morning today, and that's it.
The wind since then has dried most of it up and the ground is looking much as it did before :(

The water butt from the two sheds has filled up, but I have two linked together from the conservatory, and the second one is still empty :(

I shall go to the plot tomorrow, and with the winds we get down there just a couple of miles from Dungeness power station, I'm expecting it to be as dry as ever. Luckily we have water on site.

ON Friday, it raining in Horncastle for nearly 4 hours straight, with a nice Thunderstorm inbetween. 20 Miles away in Wainfleet (where I live) - we'd put some fertiliser down on our garden with the expectation of it being watered in nicely. Turns out - it drizzled for 5 mins and stopped - that was it!

Finally got some rain this Sunday though.
