I didn't apply especially after Coe "hinted" that there weren't any good enough facilities in Wales even though it is acknowledged that the the artificial Kayak run in Cardiff Bay is World class. But,someone must have had second thoughts-they gave us Womens Football at the Millenium Stadium

Did you get any if you applied? A couple of lads on the site did and received none even though they applied for the "minor"sports such as Handball. They both ordered about £1000 worth of tickets just so that they and their families could say"I was there."

I was hoping we were going to get the ladies beach volley ball venue, i would have even been prepared to barrow some sand from the coast.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

It would be easier to have it right here on the beach, about 200 yards from my front door.
I would even volunteer to rake the sand for them
Cheers PJ.

For those who were disapointed I believe you can apply to other countries
eg Germany / Spain etc for tickets.

Strange how all the members of FIFA and their entourage seemed to manage to get lots of tickets though. Makes you wonder how the "ballot" was conducted. Seems that many of the ordinary supporters of various sports, even the family members of some of the competitiors didn't even get a look in.

im just going to watch the events i want on the tv and spend the money on my family and the garden might do an olympic themed bbq though, just got to convince the wife that that ladies swim team do wear bikinis honest
Well I love sport but the Olympic Games somehow leave me full of dread.
I will endeavour not to watch anything and certainly would never apply for a ticket to any of the events with the exception of the Womens (and the mens of course) Hockey!
JB.

Have to admit, not really a sporty person, so it didn't really appeal. Saying that it certainly would be nice just to wander around the whole Olympic park and experience the atmosphere some.
I'll settle for TV viewing, and a small flag to wave

I know asolutely no one that got tickets in all our work and the only one going is someone who is a Ref. Many are re-applying from all the various links in Europe but still haven't heard of anyone having any luck.
Work will be pleased though with us on high alert at this time at least there will be staff around should the worst case scenerio happen - I think they assumed as so many applied there would be more off and were making contingency plans for the contingency plans.

My plan is to watch the road cycling. I can park at a friend's house near Hampton Court. I may do this for the Time Trials and find another friend near Box Hill for the Road Race.
If I decide I really want to see some of the inside of the facilities, I think I may buy tickets for the Paralympics.

I don't know of anyone who even applied for any tickets, let alone failed to get them.
And remember, that Lord of Evil, Seb Coe, now has all those credit card numbers

We applied, we wanted to give our boys the chance to say they were there! We have tickets to something as £108 left our account last month (fortunately Lord Coe won't get far on my VISA debit!) but we don't know what for. I think Tim is going to try for something else on the French site tomorrow, but as we only went for athletics we should have something worth watching!
Kind regards,
Elle

Hi Elle,
Lucky you
I shall have to content myself with a visit to Crystal Palace for the athletics again

If you do get any tickets, make sure you look carefully to see who's sitting near you
