Last year there were loads of cabbage white butterfly about, but this year I haven't seen one yet. I have seen lots of other butterflies. Has anyone else seen any cabbage whites? My greens are covered but not the red cabbage, I was going to test if they are not attracted to red cabbage.

Hi NB
I'm expecting you to be overwhelmed with offers of cabbage whites to carry on your experiment

We had a lot here about a month ago, but all clear at the moment, N.B.
I suppose they are joining forces, for a return battle.

Hi NB,
Haven't seen hardly any here either. I suspect a lot of the overwintering pupae didn't make it through the winter cold
Won't be long before the second generation is around though. Loads on their way from the continent probably

Dear N.B. i don't know if Cabbage Whites travel long distances or not.
But it wouldn't surprise me if they could travel between you and me.

OH,yes that wouldn't surprise me either, in high winds they might travel even further. Giggles here, perhaps they really don't like the red cabbage and are avoiding it like the plague!

We've had plenty round here but they seem to have disappeared now.
