I have been given and have now erected a very large greenhouse on my veg plot. Its a blank canvas with no beds etc - any tips where to start. I know I would like a peach tree and want to create some beds for winter growing but not sure where to start. Anybody got any tips for great growing methods in a greenhouse. I have for the past two years grown in a polytunnel but it has now ripped itself apart.

Dear Susan hope your not to upset you have had no replies, it does happen now and again. I'm surprised it dose not happen to me more often, as i'm pretty cheeky to some people on the forum. I think the problem might be to do with your question, Sometimes you have to be a little bit more specific as what you want to know, i.e would it best to grow a peach tree in a large container or in a raised bed in a greenhouse. Hope your not offended by this advice.
If you are just leave a rude message and everone else can have a good laugh at my exspense.

Kind regards a very thoughtful Old Hebaceous.

I have to endorse that. Without somewhat more restrictive terms of reference there is too much that could be said without really satisfying the questioner. If I see in particular that phrase like "any advice welcome" I tend to leave it to others to answer. It suggests that the questioner hasn't tried any self-help such as websearches, searches on this forum, looking in a few basic books etc.
Please try again with a more specific question, say what you hope to grow and what you don't want at all. Wil it be heated in the winter, are you away for more than a day etc.
It might also help if you got some ideas on equipmet and what it costs. the Two Wests catalogue (paper or online) will give you some ideas on that even if you don't like their prices and buy elsewhere. My staging has all come from there but not much else.

Dear Susan,
I feel the thing we want to know from you are the size of Green House where the door is are there any opening windows and roof vents. I feel sure there are many people who will be only too delighted to help you in every way possible.
There are a great number of things that will grow in the GH over the late winter and early spring. What did you grow in your Tunnel?
If you can come back to me with this information the letters will flood in.
If you were to join the Forum there is a private message scheme so if you want to talk to somebody in particular you can do so without going 'On Forum'
about something that you may not understand. I find, for instance, that you can read a gardening book and it may not make sense but if you asked somebody they may well be able to couch it in terms that you do understand. If it was me I have in the past done this for several people and a lot of them are now really great gardeners.
We are all here awaiting your reply with baited breath!!
Sincerely, Johnboy.

Thanks for the tip on better posting of query it is a very large subject i suppose. By the way the greenhouse is 50 x 21 ft and has 5 doors we have just this weekend fitted 7 big tanks at the end to catch all the water that comes. We had so much rain that one of the tanks is almost full already.

I am hoping to grow both a peach and a grape vine but have read various thing that suggests these two should not be planted to close together

Gee up Susan thats a whopper, i thought you had left the K.G but i think you have probaly been busy with your greenhouse. Is it really 50' by 21', if so i can't see there being a problem with a grape vine and a peach, but if there is would you be able to divide the greenhoue.

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Ive now registered so im appearing as sue m now - ill take a picture of it and post it up yes it is that big and very empty at present. Although we have now placed mypex down one strip and put in grow bags. Our conservatory is bursting with germinating seeds that will soon be ready to transplant.

Do you know why they peach and grape be separated? I suppose we could erect a partition it had one when we took it down.
