Just to say I'm back on the Forum after a longish absence! We moved house last year - only a couple of miles, but it became a saga and meant, among other things, having no proper internet connection for two to three months. Gardening has changed, too - it's a much smaller garden. After rooting out some laurel hedging we've found space for two apple nd two pear cordons. Pretty much all of the veg is having to be grown in containers (different, and interesting!), on a flat, gravelled area over a hard base. At least it is pretty much a slug free zone. No room for a greenhouse but there is a conservatory, so I'm trying growing tomatoes and peppers hyrdoponically. Seems to be going well, though I feel more like a chemist than a gardener. Anyway, it is good to be back - thanks to Jason who got me reinstated.

Welcome back Ken, it would be lovely to hear how you are getting on with the hydroponics and keep us posted with what you learn, if you have time.
Are you combining it with fish?
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.

Thanks Alan and Nature's Babe. No fish - may combine the produce with fish later, but that's another story. Have been looking up how to put a photo on the forum, so may do that later to show how hydroponics is progressing.
