Hi everybody,

Hope you are all fit and well.

Just wondering how to make seaweed fertiliser? Also once made what quantities to dilute it?

And can you mix in nettles to the mix? Have practically a hedge most years!! But good for the butterflies so just cut back if in danger of attacking me.

How about sticking a load in a dustbin, adding water and waiting until the bubbles die down? But I suspect it may be quite pongey! I'de add nettles and when finished dilute 10 - 1 for watering and 20 - 1 for foliar feed. Cheers, Tony.

Hi Fairweather, I add both to the compost heap and let the worms do the mix. :D

Had not thought about putting them on the compost heap. Talking about that. Is there any position in the garden where they do better, eg in full sun, partial sun etc.

Hi Fairweather,
Nemo from the ROI uses seaweed and feel that he is the best person to advise you.
There have been several postings regarding seaweed and it is possible you may gather further advice either through the search facility or by sending a PM to Nemo who I am sure will be very eager to assist you.
