What's happening on here? Is the forum having technical problems? I found myself locked out this morning, having been told that I had exceeded the maximum number of attempts to enter, despite not having made any previous attempts. I also had to try entering the " Capture" code several times, (very difficult to read because I have a specific eyesight problem), and got thrown out. I normally log on automatically without difficulty. Have eventually managed to get in.

Did anybody else have problems? If I suddenly disappear from the forum, it's likely to be because I find myself unable to access it. (Or maybe OH has put the spooks on me because I was rude about all his Valentine cards ?? :)

Hi Primrose,

See my post above - we're not too sure what went on, but interesting to hear you also got locked out - did anyone else?

Our IT whizzes are checking logs now to see what happened.

If anyone cannot login, please email kgadmin@kitchengarden.co.uk
for help

As you may have seen, someone has been trying to use different accounts, possibly guessing their passwords:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9334

This may explain why your account was locked.

Dear OH

Nor can I - just tried. I suspect this is an AOL problem rather than KG forum.

AOL can be a pig; I always use Google Chrome.

Had this message via e-mail,how true it is I do not know.It may be the answer to why Forum members are having problems.

VERY URGENT - PLEASE READ - NOT A JOKE

PASS THIS ON!

IF A PERSON CALLED SIMON ASHTON ( SIMON25@HOTMAIL.CO.UK ) CONTACTS YOU THROUGH EMAIL DON'T OPEN THE MESSAGE. DELETE IT BECAUSE HE IS A HACKER!!

TELL EVERYONE ON YOUR LIST BECAUSE IF SOMEBODY ON YOUR LIST ADDS HIM THEN YOU WILL GET HIM ON YOUR LIST. HE WILL FIGURE OUT YOUR ID COMPUTER ADDRESS, SO COPY AND PASTE THIS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE EVEN IF YOU DONT CARE FOR THEM AND FAST BECAUSE IF HE HACKS THEIR EMAIL HE HACKS YOUR MAIL TOO!!!!!......

Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Intern et. You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled 'Mail Server Report'

If you open either file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC,
And the person who o sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it .

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'..

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, And ask them to
PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!
Take Care
Regards snooky

LOL!

Oh sorry - these old old 'pass this on to everyone you know' emails still circulate after YEARS of being around.

Yes, if in doubt Google :) And a useful tip: If you're googling to check on a suspicious email or message always search adding the word scam at the end:

H M customs refund SCAM

This way you are more likely to find people and sites talking about the scams around - rather then accidentally finding a scam website posing as HM Rev etc.
