Glue in corrugated cardboard

I always tear up any corrugated cardboard boxes and add them to the compost bins where they break down very well over the months. But my OH thinks the glue which sticks the layers together might be harmful to the eventual growing of veggies etc. Could it be? Any advice welcome!

Hi Monika,
I very much doubt that there will be anything in the glue used with cardboard to worry too much about. Anything that would be injurious from most things that are now handled the nasties have been done away with. I cannot see cardboard, handled by thousands daily, escaping Health and Safety scrutiny.

You are right,JB,the glue is the equivalent of an up-market flour paste.
