Can I recommend the parsnip - Turga? I've never grown it before - germinated well and grew evenly without forking etc. It was the best set of parsnips I've ever grown in 20 years and I didn't do anything special or different.

Thanks Jane, it is good to hear about varieties that do well, we mainly seem to hear about ones that people have problems with. I've put Turga on my list for next year.

One Parsnip for good germination is the German (origin) Half Long variety which produces very broad topped Parsnips with about 6" to 8" depth most of which is usable and the flavour is out of the world.
I have home produced spare seed that I have germinated tested, should anybody want some.
JB.
