About time for this I think.

Best cooked turkey yet this year, took it out a bit early because it looked done and it fell apart. Difficult to carve, but still moist. Cook had set it on a rack in our Ikea stainless steel roasting tin and the juices just touched the underneath. ;)

Now sipping some Appletons rum over ice.;)

Yum.

I don't care if I do sound smug, our dinner was the best we've ever done. Turkey and everything just right, yummy celeriac and giblet stuffing. Pudding just the right consistency and my first ever trifle came out lovely.
And after all that, a walk on a perfect winter day. we are happy bunnies.

We had a bit of trouble on the allotment first thing, locating the parsnips under the snow, though!

Evening Peter, we too have had an excellent feast, cook really did pull out all the stops for the seven of us.
My Mum, Mother in law and Father in law have just left, about 1 stone heavier. :)
A really lovely day, even if the others are complaining of aching sides, from laughing at some of my antics. :)

Hope you all have had similar days.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

A wonderful day was had by all.
All the kids had far too many presents :D They all seem to be enjoying life in the UK :) We left for home quite early, before the tantrums started

I took loads of veg up with me, so they have enough for a few days yet :)
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

A lovely quiet day here, just the two of us looking at and reading the books and magazines we had bought in advance. Just had a quick visit from son and daughter but spoke on the phone to all the rest, including nine grandchildren in three different countries. Gone are the days when oversea phone calls had to be booked in advance!!!

Christmas dinner was turkey breast with all home grown vegetables (parsnips dug up, prepared and frozen some weeks ago - as recommended on this forum!).

Still minus 10 this morning but now it's warming up, just minus 2 at the moment - snow must be on its way.
