Snowed in here today, when I fed the chickens and ducks I had to guess where the steps were very carefully and the snow came over the top of my boots, their pens are roofed but the snow had drifted inside too. - no traffic on the roads - just the awesome hush of virgin snow My guess is the farmer will be the first to brave it, clearing the snow as he goes to tend his sheep.

We have barely any snow. We've had no more than an inch overnight which has, in the main, already gone. The roads are clear and have been throughout. I think we're just lucky that the snow is going all around us, but not hitting Warwickshire.

You all have my sympathy (unless of course you're enjoying it )

We have been snowed in since Monday. Local farmers have offered to grit the minor roads but Cork County Council say "NO" on grounds of, guess what,........Health and Safety!!! They say that they are arranging half-day Health and Safety courses for the farmers, who can't get to them because the roads are too dangerous.

No wonder we are broke!!!

Kerry County Council, on the other hand, have been dropping off grit in strategic places for farmers to help themselves.

It's true that when Health and Safety came in Common Sense went out.

How long before they realise this is costing billions in lost business per day, perhaps when the runways are clear we should send them on a flight to Poland, switzerland, Canada, or even Siberia to see how other countries cope in really severe conditions.
