....you should try "Giles and Sue Live The Good Life".
Makes GW look over intellectual.

I agree, I watched a little Giles and Sue - and that was enough ! I looked for the yawn smiley, it was hiding!
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.

I watched for a full 5 minutes after the opening sequence and thought it was total rubbish. Is it supposed to be a "comedy" 'cos they were trying over hard to be total idiots. I'm not going to bother for even 5 minutes next week.

Or, perhaps it's all a cunning plan to make GW look really good

Beneath the 'comedy' it was actually quite good. This week everything was hunky-dory, next week will be the opposite and should provide a heavy dose of reality not just for would-be good-lifers, but newbie allotmenteers.

Haven't watched it yet but I don't think it is meant to be instructive.

As comedy it didn't really succeed for me. I thought some of the commentary was rather fatuous. I just wish the original Good Life could be reinvented again. I know it was nothing like real life self sufficiency but it was highly good natured and there was no bad language or swearing. I fear we have lost a whole generation of comedy writers who had a real skill. Today's comedy writers just don't do it for me most of the time.

Haven't yet caught up with Alan Titchmarsh's Gardener's World. Looks like Iplay will be doing overtime.

I did watch this the other day and got the impression that it wasn't primarily a comedy - just a light hearted look at how some groups of people lived in the 70s a bit like the Super sizer programmes that were done by the same duo.Must admit I thought as entertainment it was OK!
