Hey,

Funny you should post this we are trying to sort out an authentic menu for 1066 Hastings when we do a show down there in October to celebrate the battle.

The joys of re enactment.

Well, I have just dug up a few roots of Skirret. Very tasty; rather like carrots in fact!

Hi Alan,
"Food historian Caroline Yeldham says the medieval diet was largely a healthy one."

Not really the right sort of photograph to be in an obesity article.
Ms Yeldham seems to be carrying a hefty load!

Hi Johnboy

...and looking at the other photo, I doubt the medieval diet contained oranges, lemons, pomegranates and Florence fennel

Hi VV

Do you have contacts with a lot of re-enactment groups?

Do you think you could all get together and raise a new Model Army and finish the job this time, JB (and others) would be very happy.

Hi Geoff,
Are you even suggesting that the French Revolution should not have stopped at Calais! In Alan speak "there's wicked."
