Nothing like hedging your bets - these are the forecast page and the rainfall forecast page from the Met Office - spot the difference! It is raining currently just like it did all yesterday afternoon and evening.

Hello Geoff,

Well, at least we've all got the rain we wanted! it's bucketing down at the moment here with 20mm today so far - great.

I always use three weather websites: BBC, Met Office and Metcheck and they often vary quite considerably for this area with Metcheck usually the odd one out and quite often the more correct one. What did we do in the past without all this forecasting? I suppose, just waited for whatever turned up and followed the old weather sayings.

Still no rain here in the arid hills of Bedfordshire.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Update - and the next three days, 20, 21 and 22 :( :(

It was beautiful here until mid-afternoon - gently warm, sunny and barely a breeze. I spent the morning clipping back a large hawthorn bush which would otherwise cast too much shade onto our vegetable and herb garden at home and what a horrid job it was! With every cut I disturbed clouds of small insects, smaller than greenfly, which got into my clothes and hair, but the job is done now for another year.

Now, at 7pm, it's turned quite dark and cool.

Dear Alan, this time next Sunday you may be regretting saying that, i will have been prowling round that area for three hours by then. :)

With my waterproofs on, of course. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
