Sounds nasty, OH. I am glad you got away in time.

Our wasps' nest in a "sparrow terrace" is now spilling out of the hole and the whole box hums when they are busy. Although I have to go past all the time, the box is about 7 feet up and the wasps don't seem to mind me walking past below - so far.

Actually Old Codger had a worse experience with a wasp nest last week and ended up getting six wasp stings.

Trust him to out do me. :)

Don't try and outdo him on that front OH, I've heard that after many years of your friendship he has developed quite a thick skin.

You do well, old wise one! First weekend of the holidays and it's raining again. Gales on Friday early morning up to 87mph. You really must be looking forward to your jaunt

Dear OH..what on earth did you do with the wasps nest once it was on the ground??? Presumably, the wasps wouldn't have been very happy! Glad you escaped relatively unharmed.
Cheers.
Happy with my lot

Dear Alan, rain or shine, storm or calm, it matters not. I'm coming to enjoy myself what ever the Welsh weather wants to offer to me. :)

I'm pretty weather resistant after all these years of working out in what ever nature likes to come up with.

Dear Elaine, i'm not proud of what i did to the Wasps nest, i got a can of foam spray wasp killer and it put pay to the majority of them in a matter of minutes.
In my defence, i only did this because i had a team of lads waiting to clear up after me and they wouldnt come anywhere near it.
Their nests realy are a work of art.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
