Alan
I know exactly what you mean  I could not wait to sleep in my own bed tonight. In peace and quiet. :D but I do love camping :D just in quieter camp sites.

Dear Catherine, although things like that are certainly not very amuzing at the time, normally after some time, you can have a good old laugh at just how bad it was. :)

Morning P.J, still no rain here, lets hope it's heading our way.

We are meant to be in for showers all week, so let's hope they're right.

But of course, we all know way warm temperatures and rain can lead to.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

We've had rain this morning, at least 20 drops fell on my patio

Off to the allotment shortly and will no doubt be watering for hours again. It's hard work watering so much but the difference it's making is phenomenal, so well worth it.

I was trying to convince one of my plot neighbours that spending 10 minutes sprinkling with a watering can may make the ground look wet, but it was a complete waste of time and would do more harm than good.

I was planting leeks yesterday and had to dig over a patch of ground (previously broad beans) that had the consistency of concrete. I managed to get a fork through it then tipped around 200L of water all over before I dug it through. I then watered with another 100L of water before topping with a large amound of compost from the bin. It took hours, but planting the leeks was easy and the ground will at least take the water rather than running off if it does rain.

Rain showers are forecast for the next few days, but I'm not giving up watering on a promise from the Met Office!

We had to water our ground to get leeks in too - just couldn't make a hole as it just kept filling before we could get a leek anywhere near it.

It's sort of drizzling here are, it must have overnight too but still only 0.6mm. It needs to have a good pour down really - the ground is still dry under any trees and bushes.

We had thunder and a good shower last night - I slept through it! LOL

Just about 1mm today, dampened things but didn't even get underneath the carrot foliage. Heavy rain forecast for Wednesday and Thursday (it would be when it's the Great Yorkshire Show, after all this dry weather!).

I'll believe it when I see it.
