JB had the collidee's flown closely above your head as you "self medicated" to recover from being ravenished?

Hi Elaine,
I regret to say that the Raven is no longer with us. He attacked some
Ramblers on Sunday morning. They were in the Green Lane alongside my property and he attacked a woman with glasses on and did exactly what he did to me. He went back into the large Ash tree and I'm afraid I fetched my gun and that was that. It quite saddens me but a Raven is quite a large bird and I reckoned it could well happen to me again and the next time I may not be so lucky. End of!

Hi JB. I'm quite relieved that you have dispatched the rogue Raven. This is the second incident that you are aware of...I wonder how many others there were? Such a huge bird has caused injury to yourself and that lady, imagine the damage it could have inflicted on a child?
I'm not in favour of indiscriminate shooting, ( I'm certain the same applies to yourself) but there are times when it has to be done. Sad, yes...but necessary.
Cheers.

Hi Elaine,
The lass who got attacked was 15 and she had hysterics which is what attracted me to what was going on in the lane. It actually broke her glassed and sunk his talons into her jumper where it got caught but it pecked her head.
Poor kid was only rambling to appease her parents and screamed I will never got walking again! Can you blame her. It scared the ---- out of me as it was so unexpected.
I certainly do shoot things but never out of hand there always has to be a very good reason.

Hi JB. I'm not surprised the poor lass had hysterics....I love birds too but there is no way I would have been calm and collected if attacked by one of those brutes.
I hope she doesn't end up with a phobia about birds...that would really blight her life.
Cheers.
Cheers.

The Second brood of Swallows have departed in two phases Sunday morning and yesterday morning and the third brood are almost ready to fly the nest. There is yet time for one more brood. Last year they only had two broods and then they all departed.

Hi Geoff,
Going on last year's date, I will have to wait at least another 12 days before my first sighting
Lets hope they are early this year

I sighted a single Swallow this morning, up above the garden at work....and later it was on the electric line across the old woodyard.
...and when I excitedly told my colleague...he said..."Oh yes, I saw it yesterday."

I spotted my first caravan of the year today then got stuck behind it on the way into town. Amazing how a few warm sunny days will bring these beasts out onto the roads.

No swallows yet - takes them a while to pluck up courage to move into NW Wales
House martins appeared yesterday, though.
