I read the thread on Enorma runner beans with interest. I can see the benefits of enorma for exhibition, however size is less important to me, as I don't exhibit I have been trying other varieties, to see which sets well in all weathers, and is prolific, tender and really flavoursome. What do you all suggest is worth trying?

Been thanked: 1 time

I've been growing and saving the seed from Black Magic which I got from the Heritage Seed Library a few years ago. They set very well when others don't, are tender, a good flavour and nice and vigorous.

I like Lady Di which I find stays quite tender even when large.

Thank you all, for your suggestions, I do like heritage varieties Plum Pudding , I'm wondereing if we could swap seed, some black magic bean seed for some heritage tomatoes, green /gold or red / gold stripe,or cape gooseberries, or tomatillos perhaps ? I might have some purple podded climbing pea seeds, if those I plant this year come true , I planted giant sugar snap peas, green, and 2 purple sports turned up so I saved the seed to reselect from.

Like John, I grow Galaxy.
Great flavour and they are a stringless variety!
