ring system for cucumbers?

Need to know the best time to plant?

Hi All ,this is my fisrt time on a forum site and only my second year of growing ,I have just set up a ring system for my toms in the greeenhouse does any one know if I can grow cucumbers in the same way ?

Hi Bitzy, Yes cucumbers like growing like this. The better drainage created by having them raised helps prevent them rotting off at the base of the stem. Just give them the same feed as the tomatoes when you water them and they should be happy.

Hi plumb pudding thankyou for that, I have made the mistake of planting the cucumber seeds too early so now have window cills full of them waiting to go into the greenhouse ,

Hi Bitzy, Don't try and plant them all, you will have so many cucumbers you will be sick of them. Three plants usually provide more than enough.
